I recently had the pleasure of covering Ian & Debbies wedding at the Hilltop Country House in Prestbury, Cheshire for an Easter wedding.
It’s been 9 years since my last visit there and suddenly remembered why it was one of my favourite wedding venues.
Hilltop House is 17th century wedding venue in Prestbury, Cheshire with a beautiful English country garden with surrounding fields (with lots of sheep!), woodlands, manicured lawns, ponds and terraces making it a pretty unique venue for those perfectly intimate English country weddings.
I got greeted so warmly by Olivia and Martin who own the wedding venue and taken on a tour to see all that they’d done to Hilltop House since I’d last been. Was pleasantly surprised by their new wedding marquee and the new bright windows that have been put in to replace the plastic sheeting style ones, so much more daylight coming in for those natural looking wedding speeches later on!
I have to say, Debbie was so relaxed on entering the prep room I immediately felt like part of her extended family with the old school garage tunes playing (courtesy of the makeup artist) and party atmosphere going on.
Ian the groom was equally as chilled and totally unphased by the stress that usually kicks in just before the ceremony and remained cool as a cucumber throughout. He even let me get some portraits of him adorning a towel around his waist 😆
Ian and Debbie had their ceremony outside Hilltop Country House with seating set up so each side of the family was facing each other and a wedding stringed quartet played leading them into their wedding vows. The wedding procession walked through the luscious gardens in full Spring bloom towards the house which was a lovely touch.
You’ll notice from my selection of key images that' I’ve included quite a few sheep shots. It’s not that I’ve got a fetish for them but just found it really nice to have little lambs running around outside throughout the wedding breakfast! Luckily they weren’t serving lamb for the wedding breakfast or it would have been pretty ironic; instead they went for an authentic Spanish paella which I have to say tasted amazing.
