Forty Hall Wedding Photography

A few taster shots from Roz & Samir’s wedding!

Hot off the press this afternoon are a few taster shots from Roz and Samir’s wedding held at the grand stately home of Forty Hall in the quiet suburbs of Enfield. Forty Halls’ tranquil location feels a million miles away from Enfield Town with its shops and traffic. A lovely venue to choose if you’re wanting an intimate wedding in a location steeped with history and charm.

It was so nice to meet and shoot (so to speak) Roz and Samir. They were calm and relaxed from the word go. So much so that I didn’t see them stressed one bit as I normally like to capture this in the shots when I cover the getting ready pre ceremony shots.

Roz’s family came from the states and Sameer’s from India so it was a really nice colourful mix of cultures with the vibrantly coloured sari’s and charms hung above the entrance etc. making their wedding feel unique.

We went off after the ceremony to do some intimate one 2 one shots outside the main building of Forty Hall and we came across some Irish Hounds and their owner. I jokingly suggested we get the bride and groom to sit on their backs as they were so massive and the owner actually agreed saying ‘well actually in Ireland I take my dogs to weddings for just that. It’s traditional for brides and grooms hold them for wedding photographs!’ My lovely bride and groom joyfully agreed to hold the dog on their lead for some pictures and were amazing sports considering the size of the beast!

However within 5 seconds Samir’s dog that he was holding went wild and jumped up on the bride while the owner frantically tried to pull him down and away from her and the dress!

I’m not including the pictures of this as the owner was in the way but you can get the image of what happened 😳!

Roz was amazing about it all, she brushed it off and said calmly (while laughing!) ‘arrr don’t worry we’ve had the ceremony and it’s not that bad!’ It actually looked quite bad to be honest but the rip the dog had made was on the outside part of the dress apparently that comes away from the dress body and can be taken off. Mud was down her side and all over her shoes! Never again will I try to mix animals and wedding photography although I was VERY lucky that my bride was so nice about it all!!!
